Farm
The Pamba Heritage Villa is located amidst a wide array
of fruits trees, flowering and medicinal plants. The entire
landscape is sandwiched between the Pamba river and emerald
carpeted paddy fields. The two acres of this property
has mainly coconut and banana plantations.
As you stride along the compound you can see the jack
fruit tree top to bottom heavy with fruits, lemon plant,
cocoa, coffee plants sapota tree, mulberry plant, pomegranate,
pepper wine and a whole lot of local herbs and medicinal
plants. We also grow various vegetables for home use.
For the purpose of cultivation only cow dung and other
organic wastes are used as manure. A few of the coconut
trees at The Pamba Heritage has been given for toddy (fermented
sap from coconut trees) tapping. And the guests can anytime
sip this coconut nectar fresh from the trees.
Tender coconut water is another special thing to taste.
At Pamba Heritage there is a pond where different variety
of fish is grown. The guests can always take a fishing
rode(provided) and check your knack at fishing. Give your
catch in the kitchen, get it cooked according to your
taste. The entire kitchen management especially cooking
is carried under the supervision of my mother whose expertise
in the Kerala cuisine has been
acknowledged by many.
The hens and her chicks, gini hens, ducks etc give all
the liveliness of a typical village farm house. |
